FEATURES OF BIOCASE
The antimicrobial portable resources case for Covid-aware schools
With learning taking place in different parts of the school, you need a way of enabling children to keep their kit together so they only use their own resources, no matter where lessons are taking place.
BioCase provides a simple answer to two of the most pressing questions being asked of primary schools:
How can children be encouraged to use only their own resources?
How can the school environment be kept clean?
Children are already familiar with the concept of ‘their tray’. It is usually named and it’s where they keep their books and pens (and toys they probably shouldn’t bring into school!). In Covid-aware schools, when lessons may be taking place in classrooms other than their own, BioCase enables children to carry their resources with them in ‘their case’. Having their own set of resources reduces the chance of children sharing pens, pencils, glue sticks and the like, which lessens the risk of cross-contamination. At the end of the day there’s no need to clean the cases as the antimicrobial coating will take care of viruses and pathogens itself. Please note: Only BioCase includes the antimicrobial coating; if using a standard SmartCase, additional cleaning may be required.
Suitable for use inside and outdoors, BioCase is made in the UK from fully recyclable materials and is guaranteed for five years.

Antimicrobial testing and Coronavirus
There is currently no test against SARS-CoV-2. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention have categorised the virus at biohazard level 3 and above, meaning it is not currently available to anyone for public commercial testing.
The additive used in a BioCase has been tested against an earlier feline coronavirus strain, and several other earlier SARS strains – what testing laboratories refer to as ‘surrogates’.
In these tests it has proven very effective – 90% reduction in transmission rates after 2 hours.
Whilst some testing laboratories will claim this to accurately predict how it will react when in contact with SARS-CoV-2, and whilst this approach is an accepted industry practice, there can be no guarantee that this is the case.
